FINDING A MORNING FLOW

I never adopted a morning routine. I wake up, roll out of bed and unwillingly begin my day. I slowly move along a path that drags me throughout my space until I miraculously have on clothes, keys in hand and I’m walking out the door.

It was exactly 2 years ago, minus a month or two, I was standing in this same courtyard, adorned in a navy blue polyester blend uniform wrapping my head around being back in the retail game.

THE MAKING OF A PODCAST

I recently did an interview with Bobble Club House - hey girl (shameless plug here) and she inquired about the type of music I listen to while I knit. Initially, my answer was no music and then it rained.

GROWING AS A CREATIVE

Saying the words, “I am an artist” or “I am a writer” use to be hard for me to accept. They would linger on my subconscious, wafting about like a cool breeze on a blistering day.

Farewell 2020

2020 was bitch! She was handing out emotions like tic tacs and I got caught up in every one. I would describe my 2020 music selection as erratic as my feelings - I was praying, crying and twerking the whole year.

My earliest memory of voting was with my mother. I distinctly remember standing in line (which was no small feat for my child-like demeanor) and waiting for our turn to squeeze into our partition.

HOW TO UNWIND LIKE A BOSS

I would say that 60% of my time is spent in bed - which has been deemed as my second workspace. It’s where I knit, read, write, gain inspiration and of course relax.

ACTION PLAN B

When I started my business in 2018, I knew that it was going to be a slow process. I purposely allowed myself space to create an authentic brand and really embrace all that starting a company can bring - stress, comfort, excitement, doubt and more stress.
